This spot where I stopped for the night is in the Chihuahuan Desert and I backpacked there over a period of three days. The temperature during the day was in the mid-90s and the night fell into the high 20s. While sitting and watching the sun go down the cold came with great speed. It sorta' felt like being slowly lowered into cold water. The sensation of the cold night approaching was a constant decline - it did not come in fits and starts. An incredible evening. Yes, those are zebra socks.
